The founding insight
Watt was founded by engineers behind petabyte-scale reasoning systems at some of the world's most demanding institutions. Our CTO spent 16 years finding signal at top hedge funds and government labs: the same kind of non-deterministic systems that make LLMs so powerful, and so hard to build on top of.
The founding insight was simple: the world's most valuable signals have been locked inside a handful of companies for decades. Google, Meta, the big funds: they built empires on data everyone else was locked out of. The same companies kept winning because they were the only ones who could afford a 200-person data team to decipher signal from noise.
AI changed the math. Agents don't read a contact record and make a judgment call. They traverse graphs of interconnected signals in milliseconds. Legacy data tools were never built for that. We built something that was: the Signal Graph, the world's first LLM-native database.
We unified 25,000+ upstream data sources into a single traversable model. Not aggregated fields: raw signals. 145,000+ on people, 55,000+ on businesses, 15 trillion relationships pre-computed every day, accessible in plain language. Legacy tools compressed signals into ~300 pre-aggregated fields, filtered before you ever see them, designed for human analysts. Watt took the same underlying data and made it traversable by an agent. One competitor spent $500K and six months trying to replicate the joining layer. They became a Watt customer instead.
